Grad Student

For someone who claims to not be a huge fan of the color green, I feel like I've been wearing a lot of green lately. It's not all shades of green that I hate, it's mostly kelly green, neon green, and the like. I love deep, foresty greens and pale greens. Chartreuse is a weird shade that I actually don't mind. It always makes for an interesting color mix.

So this week is the first week of classes for grad school! I'm officially a graduate student, taking classes and having homework assignments again. It's a weird feeling to have readings and assignments again. I've been out of school for two years now, so to be back in feels a little weird, but also familiar and refreshing.

I've always been good at school. I was always a good student and secretly enjoyed writing essays and whatnot. I definitely did not like most of the sciences and math, as much though. The only math I liked was basic algebra and trigonometry. I wasn't a fan of biology (especially when we had to dissect things...ick!) or physics, but I liked chemistry and I also love things like astronomy. Anyway...being back in school is sort of like reuniting with an old friend who you had a love/hate relationship with. It's familiar and exciting, but you know that there's probably going to be those moments that are going to stress you out and drive you crazy.

I'm already feeling a little like I don't have time for everything and it's only the first week. Work, running this blog, social life, school, family. It can get to be a lot! Because I've started school, I am cutting my hours back at work a bit, so that should alleviate some of the panicked and overwhelmed feelings I get. As upbeat and silly as I am, there are still moments where I feel like bursting into tears because I'm feeling anxious or stressed or whatever. But that's part of being human. Not everything will be easy, but usually the things that aren't are worth the trouble in the end somehow.

  3. Such a cute little outfit. I love the colors, and the scarf is so pretty. Yay for grad school! I've been out for 2 years too, so it'd be strange for me to get back into it... but luckily, I imagine you're learning about what you love! :)

  5. It's normal these first times that you will be anxious, and stressed, and until you get a fixed routine sometimes it will be hard to congate everything in schedule. But you will do it, you are strong and when we have to fight to what you want. And I say to myself everytime I think I'm doing to much " Life it's only one so let's live it and do whatever we can do".

Best wishes for you on grad school, you are starting and I'm ending my master these year :)

  12. School is definitely a love/hate relationship. I find the grad school essay workload 20x worse than undergrad. I'll definitely be glad to be done in a year! I hope your studies go well though!
I also really love the color pairing in this outfit. That cardigan is a great color! The scarf is such a cute accessory too.
