Oh, how I wish I had a time machine. I would love to see the world before all this modernization and technology happened. I'd love to see my hometown and places like New York City in those years and even further back to when they were first built. I find it so alluring and fascinating.
I'd also love to travel back in time to see what my grandparents and parents were like when they were younger and my age. I feel like it'd shine a whole new light on the people that they are today. It'd be so interesting to see them before I was even a thought in their heads. Before they were parents and were just young adults figuring out life the same as I am now.
By the way, wouldn't it be great to go back in time and go shopping? Vintage dresses, galore! I used to spend hours on eBay trying to find vintage dresses and getting in bidding wars during the final moments of the auctions. I haven't done that in years. With everything I got going on, I don't have time to do that. It's also just so intimidating to try to create the perfect search to find the exact thing you're looking for. I feel the same way about Etsy. Etsy is full of vintage clothing. So much so that I don't even know where to begin. A simple search like "blue 50's dress" could come up with thousands of results. Plus, vintage is really expensive. It's rare to find a store that actually sells vintage clothing at affordable prices. I always marvel at the affordable vintage treasures that Alexandra of Into The Woods finds. She is always finding great Etsy stores to buy vintage clothing from!
I got this dress from Lalamagic while they were having their 50% sale, so it was only $20! It's hard for me to resist a cute sailor dress. I still love my gorgeous halter sailor dress that I wore over the summer, but as a girl who is on the busty side, it's tough to pull off strapless or halter tops without having to keep pulling them up and adjusting them. It's nice to have something a little more comfortable on hand that requires less maintenance and adjustment. I still want to break out that other sailor dress, though. It's actually really heavy and long, which would be good for the cold weather. The summer shoot I did with it is definitely one of my favorites from this year.
