Our first stop was the Rocky stairs, which is the stairs that lead up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Of course, I had to run up them, but Chris wasn't up to it so he stayed put at the bottom. It was pretty hot that day, so we rested on the stairs for a bit before heading to our next destination.
The next destination is like a food lover's paradise. It's called Reading Terminal Market, and it's AMAZING. I have never seen anything like it. It is both mouthwatering and overwhelming, but most importantly, delicious and awesome. It is an indoor market where dozens of food stands are lined up in aisles. Any kind of food imaginable can be found here, and sometimes there are multiple choices for a certain type of food! We were told by the woman who works at our hotel to be sure to walk through the whole thing before deciding on what to eat, so we did that first. We decided we would each go all out and try 3 different things. Here is what I chose:
1. Grilled cheese with macaroni and cheese from Meltkraft - This grilled cheese was REALLY good. The company is a part of a creamery and they use their own fresh cheeses to make their sandwiches. It definitely shows. It was amazing.
2. A thanksgiving dinner sandwich from The Original Turkey - Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorite meals of all time, and turkey is one of my favorite meats, especially roast turkey. Needless to say, I had to try this place out...AND THIS SANDWICH. You guys, this may be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It had roast turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, and stuffing on it. I am pretty sure it also came with cranberry sauce, but since I don't really like that I asked for the sandwich without it. I wish I could eat this every day of my life.
3. I was pretty full after the sandwiches, so I didn't get a burrito or tacos like I had originally planned. I did want to try an Amish pretzel though, so that was my third choice. To be honest, it tasted like any other soft pretzel I've had. I love soft pretzels though, so I was happy. I also got fresh squeezed lemonade from them which was very good.
