Chris and I saw Sum 41 in NYC on the Friday of my birthday weekend. We spent the day galavanting around the city. We went to Barcade, ate at a meatball place, walked down the High Line, and went to The Strand. Sum 41 was great and we had a lot of fun in the pit. The venue was right in Times Square, which was cool. My feet and legs were hurting by the time we got back home from all the walking and jumping around.
On Saturday, my cousin and I went on a hike and ended up stumbling upon a fall festival atop a mountain. There was food, cider, music, and lots of dogs. There was also great views of the foliage. That night, I had my birthday party at a beer garden and was surprised that all of my friends were all free on the same night. It was a fun night. We drank, danced, ate cupcakes, and played games. It was awesome.
Sunday a few of us went to Salem. After reading that book about Salem that I mentioned a couple of posts back, it had me itching to go again. I would really love to live there someday, though I don't know if it'll happen. I would at least like to stay there for a long weekend or even a week sometime. It was surprisingly warm that day, about 70 degrees. It was nice to walk around without a jacket in October in Salem. We pretty much just explored and shopped. I got a bunch of souvenirs including a t-shirt designed after the Ouija board, skeleton arm earrings, a Salem pin, and a pumpkin pin.
Monday was my actual birthday and I had the day off! This was the day that these pictures were taken. Chris and I went pumpkin picking and drove around looking at foliage. We stopped at a state park to take in the leaves. After that, we went to Olive Garden so I could get pumpkin cheesecake. I am not a cheesecake fan, but one time when I went to Olive Garden with my family I tried the pumpkin cheesecake and it was amazing. In addition to the cheesecake, I had a pumpkin chai latte, pumpkin spice cake, and pumpkin pie. Needless to say, I had a tummy ache that night, haha.
My parents took me out for hibachi for my birthday. My niece got to come out with us, which was exciting. We went back to my parents' house after and had some of my family over for cake. My mom made the pumpkin spice cake. I've slowly been eating the leftovers of it. It's so good.
Now about this dress...I'm in love. The second I saw this dress on ModCloth, I knew I needed it. I received it a week or so before my birthday and decided to save it as my birthday dress since it's so perfect. It's autumny, has my favorite flower on it, and it's comfy with a great cut. The back of the waist has a little stretch to it, which makes it even comfier. The print is stunning and the colors are amazing. This is definitely one of my new favorites.
